Week 48

It was such a blessing and opportunity to get to go to the temple dedication this weekend. The Spirit was so strong and it is the closest I will get to being able to assist to the temple during my time here. I really did feel so much better during and after. The House of the Lord has power, even many miles away being transmitted by satellite. Make the time to go, it is worth it and the blessings are real for you and for others on the other side. One really cool experience we had this week was Friday night. We had a really good lesson with some investigators and answered so many questions they had. But it ended late at about 9:55 and we're supposed to be in the house at the latest 10 pm. We started walking back as quick as we could and took a route that we don't normally take because it has more light. While walking a colectivo pulled up. I didn't recognize at first, but it was our elder quorum president and he told us to hop in and he drove us home. Don't know if an

Week 47

This week we started teaching 6 new investigators. We are focusing on working hard and using our time the best we can, and not just letting it pass by passively. It can be more mentally exhausting for sure, but it is more rewarding. Angel came to church again yesterday so he is on track for his baptism the 10 of November. Her also went to a stake missionary activity and loved it. Even brought the fake name tag he got there to church the next day. Last night we got to do some unplanned service and helped a few guys enter 13 metros of leña. That is a lot of wood, I'll just say that. It was way fun and turns out one of the guys is actually someone we have taught before. That was fun. Next Sunday is the dedication of the temple here. I'm excited to get to see that! Love you all. Wow, we had an incredible week. On Thursday Gloria told us she wanted to be baptized this Saturday. She did not want to have to wait anymore! We rushed to get everything put together and she was able to be baptized on Saturday evening at 7:30. It was an incredible experience and I am so happy for her. She will be confirmed this Sunday the 14th of October. It was a true miracle that she has been baptized. And that we were able to get everything ready so fast. I believe God slowed time down for us a couple of times for us to be able to get everything ready, be able to eat lunch and still walk a mile to be able to see all the sessions of conference. Wow, what a session of conference we had! Another unforgettable experience. The last session was my favorite I think but I liked them all. The study plan they are going to initiate for the home is going to be so good and so helpful. The home is so important. We will continue working hard this cambio to help God bring to pass His mi

Week 44

Elder Hanna and I had a great week this week. We started to focus even more on talking to everybody possible, meaning doing a lot more street contacts. It has been a lot of fun and is resulting well. Also we get to talk to a lot more people that way so his Spanish is improving rapidly. We do a lot of wood chopping together and we make a pretty good team. Reminds me a lot of when I worked all the long summers with Scott. Winter returned this week with lots of rain and hail, changing every 5 minutes to sun for a few minutes and then returning with wind and rain. Just makes a really good excuse to buy some french fries from the local at the end of the night! Gloria is doing well and came to church yesterday! She is all ready for her baptism the 15th. I think we are going to be able to start teaching her husband this week too. that is so exciting. I am learning more and more from my companion everyday. Not sure who is being trained and who is supposed to be doing the training.
