This week we visited with Oscar, Yanet, and Olga a number of times. They're a family we found a week or two ago that are going through a pretty hard time right now. We have been able to help them a  lot with their move and taught them a lot this week too. They really liked the plan of salvation and said they would be baptized if God told them to do it. Good thing God wants them to be baptized in His church and He answers sincere prayer!! We also had a couple of lessons were we struggled to explain the authority of God in a way that allows people to understand. God gives His power to men by the laying on of hands, as Jesus did with his 12 apostles. This power was lost when the people rejected them and killed the Apostles. But, God wants us to have His truth. So, he called a prophet once again as He always has. This prophet was Joseph Smith, and he was given the Priesthood by Peter, James, and John by the laying on of hands. Thus, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints i

We had a great week here, starting off with the Leadership Conference on Tuesday. If you want to feel nervous, try having to talk to 40 missionaries, all experienced and all leaders. And right next to you is the mission president and his wife! Haha, makes me make sure I am well prepared ahead of time, well at least it should. It went well though. I was able to talk about the importance of being obedient and helping your companion to do the same. And after Presidente Isom told me I did it well so I felt much better. But, there is another zone conference tomorrow I will have to speak at and then many more after. Time to practice my public speaking! I like it though. I'm learning lots, especially about how to be more passionate. Later in the week we had to drive down to Puerto Montt and drop off some Elders at the airport so they could return to their sector in Coyhaique. We got up early and got them there on time. Getting back took a little longer and I got to know Chilean traffi

I haven't been here long but seems like a lot of time has passed. Getting to know the sector has been great, but I need more time to orient myself better. It is pretty warm back here in Osorno! That is fun:) a couple more months before winter comes again. Don't know how much you all care about the weather but....oh well. I was wrong about my Pday being on Fridays, they are still Mondays. Might change every now and then when we have to travel. But for now, Mondays. The new ward is awesome and the members help a ton. Love you all Elder Brighton

We had an incredible experience last night. One of those typical missionary stories. Time is a little short so I am going to copy and paste what my companion said about it: One of the coolest things of my mission happened to us this week.  So we've been looking the last two or three weeks for families right? We've been praying to find a family all week and we've had nothing. Anyways, last night we made our way over to some apartment buildings to contact. The crazy thing is, a couple days ago we didn't even know this complex was part of our area. We found the apartment complex Friday night when we kinda got lost in our own sector and we thought we went into the Hermanas sector. But the next day we were looking at the map and realized it was still in our sector. Once we realized it was ours we felt like we needed to head over and knock it as soon as possible. So we made our way over last night. This whole thing is surrounded by a fence. We tried the first
