Week 17

This week we had a first lesson with a man who is a physics teacher, and so is his wife. He was receptive and says he is excited to read the Book of Mormon! Another new investigator we had this week is Felipe, a youth of 18 years. He too wants to learn more and even said he wants to be baptized when he knows it is true. We are working hard with another of our investigators and she has her interview for baptism  tomorrow . Costanza has been investigating for a long time, so long that a couple members thought she was already a member. She comes almost every  Sunday  with her two sons. One is 7 and the other is 1 1/2. The 7 year old told us this week that he  wants to be baptized when he turns 8 in November. Costanza is working hard to make the needed changes in her life, and I hope these changes will set an example for her family and that her son can take that step!! We have our zone conference  tomorrow  and I'm excited for that. After, we have General Conference this weeken

Week 16

This Friday we had a day full of small miracles. After lunch, we had planned to contact a block near that house. Because it was rainy all day, more people were in their house. Rain level really affects activity level here, and it rains a ton during the winter. We started contacting and knocked a house and a man came out. We came up with the idea to change our contacting method a little and start trying to share a scripture of Christ in just 2 minutes and then go from there. This guy said sure, so we shared with him and asked if he would be interested in learning more another day. He told us yes. We could probably have entered then and shared something more, but it didn't feel right. After that contact my companion said that maybe there was someone else on the block we needed to talk too. We continued until we literally did get to the last house on the street, The lady that answered invited us in to share our short message with her and her husband, so we shared Alma 7:11-13. She

Week 15

The rain has begun to arrive. I got to try out my boots, umbrella, and big rain jacket and all work Very well!! Thank you to those who helped me prepare. Today is a super sunny day and the weather is great, but the rain will be here very soon. And once it starts, it doesn't stop I have been told. This week was a little frustrating with a lot of appointments that fell through, but we also saw a couple miracles in how the schedule worked out. The day of miracles hasn't ceased, I think we've just departed from searching for them and recognizing them. They're not always super big, but they're there. Coincidences can be miracles if you see them that way and thank God for them. We were finally able to align schedules and have a lesson with the doctor spouse of a recent convert. He is super intelligent and Catholic, but has desires to learn more and likes the way the Church is set up. Our job is to help him feel the Spirit and understand it better.  Another nig

Week 14

We had the chance to do some service this week for the members. One day we shoveled and wheel barrowed about a yard of rock and some dirt from the front yard to the backyard of a member. That only took us about 45 minutes and I was impressed with how fast it went. It was great to do some good old fashioned manual labor again like I am used to. Even better that it requires little talking and just working hard. The other was painting a wall of a less active older lady we found while doing contacting. It was an interesting experience, and far from the best paint job I've done because we only had one very old paintbrush, but she still appreciated the help. Sometimes with the older people, or those who can't understand or function very well, all we can do is try to show the love of Christ. We also had a ward activity this week  on Friday  so we spent a lot of time inviting tons of people to it. We actually had over 10 less actives or investigators show up! That made me super happ
