We had a great week here, starting off with the Leadership Conference on Tuesday. If you want to feel nervous, try having to talk to 40 missionaries, all experienced and all leaders. And right next to you is the mission president and his wife! Haha, makes me make sure I am well prepared ahead of time, well at least it should. It went well though. I was able to talk about the importance of being obedient and helping your companion to do the same. And after Presidente Isom told me I did it well so I felt much better. But, there is another zone conference tomorrow I will have to speak at and then many more after. Time to practice my public speaking! I like it though. I'm learning lots, especially about how to be more passionate.

Later in the week we had to drive down to Puerto Montt and drop off some Elders at the airport so they could return to their sector in Coyhaique. We got up early and got them there on time. Getting back took a little longer and I got to know Chilean traffic... it is something different for sure. 

We did exchanges with those Elders Monday and Tuesday and we found 7 new investigators in that time. That was a miracle.

We were able to help some of those people move things yesterday and take a load of stress off of her shoulders. The timing that we found them was very good. I'm excited to work with her, Yanet and her daughter Olga (13). Her father, Oscar is an older guy that is an inactive member. We offered to share  a scripture with him because he is always on his porch just sitting there and he let us in for the first time and later his daughter and granddaughter walked in. We invited them to listen and they did.

We also helped another contact we did earlier to enter a bunch of firewood late one night. I love service!!

I would tell more about things but time is so short. We are busy, and that is great!!

This past week things returned almost to normal in our work in the sector. We really were able to take advantage of the extra hour in the evenings. It's a valuable time. We also had our Book of Mormon activity and it went well. Luciano came and shared his testimony of the Book of Mormon. It was special and awesome.  We taught the papa of a member here who is 17 and it was really great. His name is Jorge and we hope to see him progress well.  This week I leave Chile and return home to Texas. I will miss all of what the mission has been. But it has prepared me for what comes next: endure to the end! I am excited for the adventures ahead. The experiences I have had here, and the people I have met have changed who I am and I am very grateful for everything I have accomplished here. This week started off well on Monday night. We found an antiguo we wanted to go by in the area book and we knocked and talked to the lady who came out. She's a member turns out, and her husband is not. He has had many previous interactions with missionaries but never acted much before. Well, a minute or two after talking to her outside, he pulls up- home early from work (a very nice "coincidence"). I asked if we could go inside to meet them better and they said yes. We talked and got to know them for a bit, and the shared lesson 1. It was an incredible lesson and we even invited him to be baptized if he received an answer. He said he would! The catch was that later we asked him if he would pray to receive an answer and he responded that he would if he felt like it. He was unwilling to act to receive the answer. Week 40

The month of August has passed and with it I hope the cold and rain too! That is a hope in vain, but we did have some beautiful days this week and the sun is out now. Spring is coming and lots of trees are budding out in flowers. I might have to bust out my short sleeve shirts for when I shed my jacket in the afternoons. We had a lot of opportunities to teach our investigators and also to get to know them a little better. Gloria taught me how to make sopapillas, and Raul and Ana showed us around their home and kitchen where they make sausages to sell as their source of income. We also had the chance to offer little acts of service to Moises and various hermanas in the ward with different things. The better I get to know and love these people, the more my desires to help them grow. It is such a grand opportunity to meet and serve so many people.  I try everyday to better myself and search to do what the Lord wants me to do.
