This week we did a pair of intercambios. The first we did with the Zone Leaders of Rahue and we traveled to Rio Negro to start them. It's a little city about 45 minutes outside of Osorno. I was with Elder Zambrano who was in the CCM with me. We worked, doing contacts, in Rio Negro for a while and then took a very, very crowded bus back into town. We arrived to their sector and continued working there for the evening. I had lots of good conversation with Elder Zambrano and we learned lots together (he is from Colombia). 

Later, we did intercambios with the Zone Leaders from Osorno and I worked in my sector with Elder Arnett- my companion from the MTC! It was really fun to get to see and work with him after so long! It is amazing to see the progress we have made and the people/missionaries we have become. 

I really love to work with other missionaries and see how dedicated they are to the work. It always impresses me all that they do. Being a missionary is great! :)

Ricardo is progressing super well! He came to another baptism this week and while he was there he was inviting the other missionaries to his baptism in two more weeks! He is progressing really well and loves learning and reading. We have been praying that he can find work and he just called to say that he has a job interview tomorrow so we hope it goes well!!

We had another fun trip today and visited the volcano, and this time I brought my baseball gloves so I played catch on a volcano! How cool is that!! We got absolutely soaked by rain and snow, and frozen by the wind but it was a fun time :)

This week we have cambios and 17 new missionaries getting here tomorrow so that'll keep us busy!

This past week things returned almost to normal in our work in the sector. We really were able to take advantage of the extra hour in the evenings. It's a valuable time. We also had our Book of Mormon activity and it went well. Luciano came and shared his testimony of the Book of Mormon. It was special and awesome.  We taught the papa of a member here who is 17 and it was really great. His name is Jorge and we hope to see him progress well.  This week I leave Chile and return home to Texas. I will miss all of what the mission has been. But it has prepared me for what comes next: endure to the end! I am excited for the adventures ahead. The experiences I have had here, and the people I have met have changed who I am and I am very grateful for everything I have accomplished here. This week started off well on Monday night. We found an antiguo we wanted to go by in the area book and we knocked and talked to the lady who came out. She's a member turns out, and her husband is not. He has had many previous interactions with missionaries but never acted much before. Well, a minute or two after talking to her outside, he pulls up- home early from work (a very nice "coincidence"). I asked if we could go inside to meet them better and they said yes. We talked and got to know them for a bit, and the shared lesson 1. It was an incredible lesson and we even invited him to be baptized if he received an answer. He said he would! The catch was that later we asked him if he would pray to receive an answer and he responded that he would if he felt like it. He was unwilling to act to receive the answer. Week 40

The month of August has passed and with it I hope the cold and rain too! That is a hope in vain, but we did have some beautiful days this week and the sun is out now. Spring is coming and lots of trees are budding out in flowers. I might have to bust out my short sleeve shirts for when I shed my jacket in the afternoons. We had a lot of opportunities to teach our investigators and also to get to know them a little better. Gloria taught me how to make sopapillas, and Raul and Ana showed us around their home and kitchen where they make sausages to sell as their source of income. We also had the chance to offer little acts of service to Moises and various hermanas in the ward with different things. The better I get to know and love these people, the more my desires to help them grow. It is such a grand opportunity to meet and serve so many people.  I try everyday to better myself and search to do what the Lord wants me to do.
