week 49

San Pablo! It is a little city but very very pretty. It is about a 25 minute bus ride heading into Osorno. The branch here had 21 people attend on Sunday, so pretty small but with over 100 members on the ward list. We'll be doing our best to work with menos activos and part member families here.

To put it into perspective, the other day we came across a man in the street (not too many people in the streets here) and I started to contact him. We talked for a sec but he said he was busy because his pigs were on the loose! Hearing that, I practically begged him to let us help catch and he relented and said we could. Pig wrangling!! Basically just consisted in us standing in the intersection and shooing, herding them in the direction of home but it made for a great story and good memory. Lots of chickens loose on the streets and of course the normal amount of stray dogs, with a very surprising representation of greyhounds too. It's an interesting little town. Lots of people have pigs, sheeps, and DUCKS! Haha. I love the animals.

My companion is actually from Georgia, not Utah. Elder Cano. He already understands a lot of Spanish which is really impressive for the way people talk here. He speaks well too, but we need to practice a lot so he can improve.

We had a branch Halloween activity on Friday and the Elder's Quorum president was dressed as Mario. Best Mario costume I have ever seen, it was super funny and I definitely took some pictures with him.

Our house here is super nice. Very pretty, clean, and well'-maintained. I'm lovin' it.

We are using the area book to try to find as many people as we can and of course doing a ton of contacts. We are already working with a part member family whose son baptized last year and las hermanas were working a lot with them. Ivan And Cristina with their 3 kids. They have a lot of potential.

All in all, things are good here. Let me know if you have any questions, concerns, comments, etc!

Elder Brighton
